Date Page What changed
7 Oct 2026 Salary calculator Above ₹50 lakh of taxable income a surcharge applies, which the calculator didn’t add, so tax was shown too low. It now says “We need more information” there instead of showing a take-home figure. Results up to ₹50 lakh are unchanged.
6 Oct 2026 Save-up calculator (pre-publication) With a yearly price rise, the whole price now grows, not only the amount still needed, so saving can take a little longer (example: 13 months instead of 12). An empty price now asks for more information instead of saying “You already have enough”. Months are counted from the current month.
6 Oct 2026 Guide: Money mules (pre-publication draft) Flagged mule accounts updated from “over 26 lakh by the end of 2025” to over 32 lakh by 30 June 2026 (MHA reply in Parliament, 28 Jul 2026). The offers spread mainly through Telegram and Facebook; WhatsApp was removed because the source doesn’t name it.
6 Oct 2026 Guide: Life and health insurance basics (pre-publication draft) Fixed arithmetic: ₹2 lakh–₹4 lakh of scheme cover pays about 10 to 20 months of ₹20,000 living costs, not “one to two years”.
6 Oct 2026 Guide: A suspicious UPI request (pre-publication draft) Added the terms of RBI’s small-fraud compensation from 1 Jan 2027 (85% of a loss up to ₹50,000, at most ₹25,000, once; report within 5 calendar days). Money sent by mistake is recovered through the sender’s bank complaint process, not “reversed” by the bank.
6 Oct 2026 Guides: After a missed EMI, Loan-app harassment, Complaining about a bank or NBFC, Gold loans (pre-publication drafts) Penal charges are a separate charge, not necessarily “flat”; lenders must alert you when (not before) they report you to a credit bureau; digital lenders aren’t obliged to settle within 30 days — after 30 days you can go to the RBI Ombudsman, within 90 days of the later of that date or the lender’s last reply; the ₹5,000/day for late return of gold applies when the delay is the lender’s fault, and LTV caps apply to consumption loans.
6 Oct 2026 Guides: Settled, closed, written off and Hospital emergency without insurance (pre-publication drafts) After a settlement, RBI rules bar the same lender from lending again for at least 12 months. Consumer complaints are now filed on e-Jagriti (it replaced e-Daakhil); the road-accident cashless scheme is now called PM-RAHAT.
6 Oct 2026 Guide: Withdrawing your PF (pre-publication draft) The tax example now uses the 75% Imran can take out after losing his job (₹1,50,000, TDS ₹15,000 with PAN), instead of a ₹1,80,000 settlement that didn’t match his ₹2,00,000 balance.
6 Oct 2026 Guide: How to read a Key Facts Statement (pre-publication draft) The APR in the sample KFS was corrected from about 20.9% to about 18.9%. The earlier figure was the effective annual rate. RBI’s KFS illustration uses the monthly rate × 12.
6 Oct 2026 Salary calculator (pre-publication) Payroll components are now rounded to the rupee, as payrolls do. Results changed by less than ₹2.
